Who this policy covers

OSCL — Open Source Component Library operates the OSCL website. This policy explains how we handle information when you browse the site or contact us. It does not cover applications you build with OSCL, or external services you choose to use.

The website provides component documentation, installation instructions, and interactive examples. You do not need an account to use it.

What stays in your browser

The site stores your light or dark theme choice in your browser’s local storage under oscl-theme. We use it only to remember your display preference. It remains until you change it or clear this site’s browser data; clearing it resets the preference.

Search runs in your browser. Demo forms and API keys are examples: they do not create accounts, authenticate you, subscribe you to emails, or save settings to a server. The site does not send your search queries or demo inputs to us or save those inputs in site storage. Use fictional information in the previews.

The site’s application code does not set cookies or include analytics scripts, advertising pixels, or cross-site tracking. We do not sell personal information, use it for targeted advertising, or build profiles about you.

Hosting and technical data

When the website is served through Vercel, the hosting provider processes technical data needed to deliver and protect it. This can include your IP address, approximate location derived from that address, browser or device information, requested URLs, timestamps, response status, and diagnostic logs.

This data supports hosting, reliability, troubleshooting, and abuse prevention. The data available to us and its retention depend on Vercel’s services, settings, and applicable obligations; we do not promise a fixed deletion period for provider logs. See Vercel’s Privacy Notice and logging documentation for more information.

When you contact us

If you email us, we receive your email address, the contents of your message, and any information or attachments you choose to include. We use these to respond, handle your request, and keep necessary correspondence. Please do not send passwords, API secrets, or personal information we do not need.

Email and hosting providers process information to deliver their services. We may also disclose information when legally required or necessary to protect the site and people’s rights. We keep contact information only as long as needed for the request, necessary records, and applicable legal obligations.

Service providers may process information outside your country. Applicable protections depend on the service and the laws that apply. No method of storage or transmission can guarantee complete security.

Your choices and rights

You can clear the theme preference through your browser’s site-data settings and choose what information to send us. Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information; restrict or object to processing; withdraw consent where processing relies on it; or complain to a data protection authority.

To make a request, email info@oscl.io. We will handle it under applicable law and may need limited information to verify the request. Some information may need to be retained to meet legal obligations.

Children and external services

OSCL is a general-audience developer resource and is not directed to children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us so we can address it under applicable law.

External links and package registries have their own privacy practices. Review their policies when you leave this website or install software through them.

Updates and contact

We may update this policy when the site or our practices change. The date above identifies the latest version; we will provide any additional notice required by law.
